So it turns out that I may have been able to get to work fairly easily after all -_-

But the bloke who was doing half my shift phoned up and asked me if I wanted him to do all my shift, and in exchange I'd do Sat for him.

Which means Yay! A whole Day off ^_^ (Still feel like a wimp though.)

I made it to work today, but I was late because I had to walk down. It's not far, (1 Mile) but the snow is somewhere between 5-10 inches deep and it was 5.45 am.

Tomorrow the snow will be frozen, so there's even less chance of getting the car moving and I really don't want to walk to work in the dark again...but I had last Wed off too...

I think that's enough reason to say stuff it and phone the guy who literally live across the road from work, but on the other hand, yeah wimp.

Well I phoned the 'guy who literally live across the road' and the boss and I'm coming in a ten instead. And I can do one half of one of GWLLATR's other shifts in return.

I still feel like a wimp though.

I've mentioned before that I positively suck at RP's, (and I HATE AIM) but this one sounds really cool ;_;

In less whiny news, the welsh writers from Nano are having monthly meet ups and although the time isn't very convenient, to me. (Blasted public transport :P ) But I've been having fun. ^_^

EDIT: Ha! I just finished the app for daisychain, and then I found out that they won't accept any new members until feb 8. D'oh.

A fangirl's review of RE: Degeneration

Hah! Capcom have one of those little movie intro things, just like Marvel and DC, not that that is important in anyway shape or form but I found it amusing.

You know, when I first saw that at the end of Nemesis it moved me. Raccoon City had been our home for two games, (three if you count the Arklay Forest and mountains as part of the city) It was almost a character in it's own right. But now I've seen it blown up about four or five times now. It's a shame that we needed to see it after all we need to see the characters reasons for being the way they are.

However having said how sick I am of seeing Raccoon City's death, the news montage was interesting (even if news montages are at the very top of every Zombie Movies trope list .) And it setts up Umbrealla 2.0 very nicely. (Although isn't HFC Umbrella 2.0 I guess this makes it 3.0 instead?) regardless, Bye bye Umbrella.

So 2min 30 in and now you know the rest if the back story. Nice quick little round up and we're moving on.

Rule number 1 never mock the zombies, even for a good cause. Just don't do it if you want to live.

Nice calm little intro for Claire who immediately gets lumbered with a really cute little orphan girl (Gee when have I seen this before :P) Yes Capcom know why you're watching this, and they are going to pull on every memory of RE2 to great effect.

So you have this very cute Sherry 2.0 called Rani, a Irons, 2.0 called...actually I didn't bother remember his name he's just that unlikable, but that's okay, your meant to like him and he's a 9.3 on the zombie fodder scale.

And then you have a zombie on a plane, maybe the writers have been reading the comics? It's been done in the comic's a couple of times, and helicopters, actually it's been done in helicopters in the games to, so we all know where this is heading.

Now the reveal of the first Zombie is damn clever and and just when you think yo know what's going to happen you get dead air landing in your face! Awesome.

Thump, Thump, Thump, Thump...okay, maybe sometimes it's okay to make fun of the zombies.

'Help me' get off your but and help yourself! Senator Jerkass!

And now we get to meet the rest of the Zombie fodder! No names at this point. Just a girl and a guy. Girl wants to do the right thing, and get's frustrated when she can't, not quite as much of a carbon copy as some of the other characters but she's clearly made to fit the 'playable female character' mold from the games.

The man mocks the dead, that's a 9.9 on the zombie fodder scale. Nice knowing you dude.

Humm, Leon's intro is rather subdued, but it works, and hey, people listen to him now.

“Shoot them in the head” *Gun muzzle snaps into place.* Leon has it going on! ^_^

Claire Claire Claire, I know your an iconic female game character but you are not in Smash Bros. And Peach wants her parasol back :P

And again and scene that is made to make the RE2 fans squeal, but honestly? I would have preferred to have seen Claire beating a zombie off Leon with that parasol, it would have been AWESOME!

And Senator Jerkass pushes himself up to a 9.9 on the zombie fodder scale and then pushes himself off the scale all together and then...wait? It can't be over yet, we've not even half way though the movie!

And here is where some bluffs are made and called. Umbrella 3.0 are actually the anti-Umbrella, or are they? Was Senator jerkass is actually a good guy? Is Angela going to be a traitor working for her big brother? Claire has a sliver fox flirting with her, past history suggests he's going to die, probably by turning into a monster.

At this point if you remember your RE2 (and RE:CV for the reference to Claire's love life) well enough you know the rest of the story.

Except you'd be wrong.

No really Capcom know what your expecting and they give it to you, and then they still surprise you.

And it's awesome! :P

(Although, I want to know how the hell did Leon manage to ~~walk~~ run away from getting bitchslapped by a ten foot tall G-mutant. Owch.

And you now what? Claire didn't get to kick enough ass [Seriously she finally get's hold of a gun and then gives it back?!], but at least she got to bitchslap someone good and proper. ^^ )

Warnings for mild Degeneration spoilers, Leon shipping, and fourth wall cracks.

“Diving?” Claire asked.

“It's not important.” Leon hedged.

“Sure it wasn't, what is it with you and 'A' girls?”

“'A' girls?” Leon echoed.

“Ada, Ashley, Angela...”Claire said counting them off her fingers. “And what's Hunnugan's first name again?”

“Ingrid.” Leon muttered. “And nothing happened between me and Angela.”

“Not yet it hasn't” Claire had her hands on her hips. “I saw the recording of the fight Leon, you were holding hands for a pretty long time there.”

“It didn't mean anything.” And then Leon sighed and slumped at the raised eyebrow Claire shot at him. “Ada's going to kill me.”

“You won't have to worry about Ada.” Claire said patting Leon on the shoulder. “It's the fangirls that are really going to make you suffer.”

So I was watching some RE: Degeneration trailers (I found out that the whole movie is on YouTube...Must resist...)

In one of those trailers Claire is looking for the brown haired girl, and I *thought* I heard her shouting 'Mommy' in the background.

My first thought? 'Oh did Chris and Claire decide to follow Alexia and Alfred's school of thought for family togetherness?' No! Bad Brain! No cookie!

Also: remember the young man I mentioned that got arrested and came back bothering me? Turns out he was three times over the drink drive limit! I'm amazed he didn't fall off that tiny little bike!

Not to mention: my washing machine is STILL broken, we've had SIX repair men over since December the 15th and only today did they decide that they should give up on repair and just replace the damn thing and we still have to wait another week for a new machine! *Grumps*
